Belated episode thoughts

I rewatched S15E8 today, "Our Father, Who Aren't In Heaven." Man, what a good one! Chuck is creepy, Donatello is his usual fun self, The Queen of Hell!Rowena reveal is delightful, and the Michael/Adam story is great. Getting Adam out of the Cage was on my bucket list for the last season, and I love what they did with it. Michael and Adam being friends is RIGHT up my alley and I really have to write fic about them one of these days.

Also, Jake Abel knocks it out of the park. I remember being less than impressed by him as Michael in S5 - not that he was awful or anything, he just seemed a little flat. Maybe I'm misremembering, as it's been awhile since I watched "Swan Song." If I am remembering right, perhaps he's honed his acting skills in the last decade or maybe it's just that he has a lot more to do in "Our Father," but in any case, he blew me away. He differentiated Adam and Michael so well; even when he wasn't speaking, it's obvious from the expression on his face who it is. Heck, even when he IS speaking it's a triumph - it's not like he does wildly different voices for them, but it's still so clear.

Much as I don't want Show to end, this rewatch is getting me PUMPED for the last batch of new episodes!!

It's a very good ep! Jake Abel was brilliant as Michael and Adam. Their friendship was so beautifully done. I agree, his performance was flat in "Swan Song". There was all this buildup to their showdown, and it ended up being very restrained. What a difference in 15.08!

I'm glad your rewatch has you excited for the new episodes! I can't wait for show to return!

Yes, well said! That scene gets really good, but the Lucifer/Michael showdown at the beginning is unspectacular. I was always glad Dean didn't agree to become Michael's vessel at that time, but I can't pretend Chuck wasn't right: it would have been much more dramatic if it had been Sam and Dean. :P

RIGHT?! Less than two weeks now!
