I said if I got a chance I'd try to do more than one day at a time, because I am so very bad at keeping up with this kind of thing. XD So, here goes!

I'm loquacious, so I'll cut this to save all your friends pages, heh.

Day 2 - Rec at least three fanworks that you didn’t create.

This is so easy. I could probably rec two dozen without breaking a sweat. But here are the ones I keep thinking about for this:

1. This Is All Very Meta by [livejournal.com profile] road_rhythm. This may or may not be a well-known fic in the fandom - I have no sense of these things - but it was one of the first Supernatural fics I ever read and jives perfectly with how I see Sam and Dean. [livejournal.com profile] road_rhythm's work has probably even influenced my Sam/Dean headcanons. This story is funny and ridiculously hot. It draws upon the existence of the in-universe Supernatural books and fandom (which has got to be one of my favorite goddamn things about The Show) to great effect. If you like Wincest and haven't read it, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

2. This gorgeous art that was for the 2018 SPN Reverse Bang. It made me want to write Demon!Dean/Priest!Cas in the worst way. (It's on my endless list of ideas!) I desperately wanted to snap it up when it came up for pinch-hitting, but I'd already taken one pinch hit and thought it was maybe selfish not to let another writer have a go.

3. [livejournal.com profile] supernutjapan's fantastic episode rewatch posts! She always has such thoughtful and interesting things to say. It's a delightful way to revisit past episodes, and often to think about them in a new light. She also does screencaps and sometimes gifs and other beautiful art, as well. I fell in love with the end image on her excellent Road Kill post and she was kind enough to let me use it as a banner image. *heart eyes* I adore it.

Day 3 - Share a favorite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favorite interview, a book, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much.

I briefly considered trying to do a top ten SPN episodes list for this, but the last time I attempted to put that together, it ballooned to like 25+, and there have been so many episodes since that that I consider favorites. So instead I'm going to talk about a rather random favorite SPN scene.

I have dozens or, lord, probably hundreds of favorite SPN scenes. And of course, most of them have to do with The Boys being funny or incredibly emotional. But one of my top faves actually involves neither of them. It's from "Monster Movie" (which would likely make it into my top ten list and I could easily do a whole, very long post on why I love it so much); the scene where the monster talks with the pizza guy and I just die laughing every time. Todd Stashwick knocks it out of the park that whole episode, and the guy who plays the pizza delivery guy is the perfect foil. Oftentimes people with small speaking parts like that overact, trying to make their mark, but he is absolutely perfect.

HA! I love that line so much. Basically every second of that scene is gold.

hehe! That scene is just too funny, and it's a perfect little snapshot of humour and good writing and acting - wonderful!

Right?? Sam and Dean are the heart of the show, but that scene showcases its twisted sense of humor and how good it can be even when they're not around. I love it.
